To start the process, the client is asked to provide their description and preferences for the resulting artwork. This includes--
-
The number of illustrations
-
preferred size
-
preferred medium used
-
watercolor, colored pencils, acrylic, mixed, inked.
-
-
General description of content, background, colors, # of figures, and figure sizes.
-
decent quality, well lit photo references in which facial features are clearly defined
-
deadline (if applicable)
-
any changes you may like to the reference photos
I will provide you a quote based on the size, # of figures, and complexity, You can request to leave the other details up to my artistic interpretation.
-
You are only purchasing physical artwork.
-
I'll always send you a rough sketch for your approval before coloring the work. This will be the only time you can ask for changes without charge! (As long as there are changes I missed from your description. If you add new details after I start the lineart, I'll have to charge you extra.)
-
After work is completed, artwork will be mailed to you.
-
I reserve the right to increase the price if you want a very highly detailed drawing.
-
I reserve the right to cancel your petition if I don't feel like drawing it or if you have been proven troublesome in any way.
-
Do not ask me to draw in a different style. If you commission me it's because you like my work, not because your favorite artist is busy.
-
Even if the provided reference of your character has a color palette section, I'll probably modify them a bit to make them fit my style (it's just a slight change). However, if you want me to stick to them, please specify it on the note.
-
As an artist, my art is constantly evolving, so there might be slight differences between the samples in my gallery and the illustration you will receive (line art style, coloring method, composition...). They are very slight changes, but please keep that in mind.
-
By purchasing any of my services you're automatically accepting my Terms of Service and being obligated to follow them. As well as promising you won't request any PayPal chargeback.
PAYMENT PROCESS
-
I will only accept PayPal. This form of payment charges me a fee (as the seller) in return for purchase protection for you as a client.
-
I will add you to my to-do list once payment is cleared and details are given.
-
Do not send me any kind of payment until I have confirmed I can accept your commission. Always wait for my instructions first.
-
I require 50% downpayment after the sketch has been approved. Please make sure you are 100% sure you want to commission me before sending a message!
-
Once the illustration has been completed, a low-resolution watermarked image will be sent for approval once more.
-
The final 50% will be due. After full payment has been received, the client's artwork will be mailed via USPS.
COPYRIGHT / USAGE POLICY
-
As the artist, I hold every right to the produced artwork, so I may do whatever I wish with it, for example;
-
Post/display the picture anywhere I want (giving you proper credit as the owner of the characters).
-
Promote myself with it in any place (and offer the digital files on ETSY).
-
-
As a commissioner, you may:
-
Repost the art on other sites with proper credit to my gallery/page (with no profit purposes unless you paid the 50% fee).
-
Print the art and even make whatever merchandising you want as long as it's only for your personal use and not for sale.
-
Use it as decoration for your deviantART profile, Facebook avatar, Twitter...
-
-
You are NOT ALLOWED to:
-
Change, modify, or use my works without my permission.
-
Reproduce the copyrighted artwork commercially (this means making money of it in any way) if we didn't arrange it before.
-
Take credit for the art.
-
Remove my watermarks /signatures.
-
-
If you wish for your commission to not be uploaded anywhere on the internet I'll charge you an extra 10% fee of the total price. If in any case, you wish to "un-private" that commission in the future (so you can upload it somewhere), you just have to send me a note or message, however, there will be no refunds for the extra private fee.
WORK SPEED
-
I will always inform you if something comes up and there is a delay with the art.
-
You may ask how your commission is going whenever you'd like.
-
If you need your commission to be made by a certain date (example; the commission is a birthday present for someone, or you just don't want to wait) you must state it in advance. A 25% fee will be charged due to giving your commission priority to be finished by the time we agreed on. However, sometimes I may not be accepting rush fee orders due to the workload, so ask me first.
CHANGES
-
Any changes that need to be made because of a mistake on my part (that was clearly specified in the references) will be fixed with no extra charge
-
Before reserving a slot I'll ask you what kind of commission you have in mind, to see if it fits my style before accepting it. If you reserve a slot and change your idea later to something that I don't want to work on, we have to stick to the original idea or you can cancel the commission but you'll lose the deposit
-
Be sure to specify which pose and angle you want (with references) before the sketch phase, because only medium/minor changes are allowed after I start the sketch. Big changes (such as a different pose or angle) that require discarding the current sketch and doing another one will have an extra charge of $20 per change (depending on how complex the sketch was), If you don't specify what you want, I'll assume you want to give me freedom on this. In short: If your reference was unclear to start with, then you are not allowed to make minor changes without a fee. Make sure to be clear in your order what you aim for.
REFUNDS/CANCELLATION FEES
-
If the client chooses to abandon the commission after the downpayment has been charged, it will act as a cancellation fee (50% quote) to compensate for materials, labor, and time.
-
If I'm very busy and I can't complete your commission I will fully return your payment, but only if I decide is necessary.
-
You have no right to make a chargeback, cancel the payment, or demand a refund from the artist under any circumstances after payment is received.
-
I might decline a commission if I think it's too hard to draw. If the payment was already made I'll refund it entirely, no problem.
-
If you file a chargeback against me, your right to everything I have ever made for you will be retracted and I have the right to sell the copyrighted artwork to new buyers.
-
Also note that you will be blocked and you won't be able to purchase anything from me anymore (commissions, designs for sale...).
SHIPPING
-
Final illustration will be shipped via USPS, shipping and handling will be included in the quote provided to the client. Ill will provide the client with tracking info as soon as it is possible. A discount will be applied to orders of 2 or more illustrations to account for lower shipping costs!
-
Unfortunately, I am not responsible for any lost or damaged packages once they have been shipped out.
